Bike Commuting
A LifeStyle Change
Gas prices got you down? No time in your busy schedule for the exercise your body needs? Why not try commuting
to work by bicycle?
Arrive at work feeling energized and ready to get on with the job. Instead of dreading the commute home, look forward to it!
Not sure how to begin? Then a bicycling commuting class may be just what you need. An American Bicyclists-created three hour course on
the "ins and outs" of commuting by bicycle will be offered on Saturday, August 16, 2008.
This BikeEd Commuting course provides practical, efficient answers to the challenges facing the novice bicycle commuter. Bicycle commuting fits into a cyclist's lifestyle as a primary branch of cycling activity. The two major challenges for cycling commuting are how the cyclist regards himself or herself and how other traffic regards them.
Upon completion of this course, the cyclist will have the tools and knowledge to make appropriate decisions regarding their personal commuting environment.
A typical course curriculum will cover the following:
- Why Commute By Bike?
- The Bike
- The Ride
- Carrying Your Stuff
